Anthropologie inspired DIY
Let's all agree...Anthropologie is dreamy! I love to get lost in that store...and could possibly spend hours looking, dreaming and trying on. They have killer sales and solid merchandise. Recently, I noticed a perfect pillow there, while dreaming! :) The basic pillow reminded me, somewhat, of the one on our bed. My guy just loves pillows...so I tend to buy lots of them.~ ha! this is a joke. He hates pillows.... None the less, the girl in me has to have them...and lots of them.
It's amazing how simple something so cute and yes, pricey, can be. I happened to have some extra fabric left over from pillows and shams and thought, why not! I played with this strip of fabric for a while and finally came up with a pretty rosette. I simply cut my fabric in a VERY long strip, the longer the strip, the bigger the flower. I like big...so my strip went on forever it seemed. After cutting the width of 2" I folded it and began to roll tuck. You will get the hang of it quickly...i promise. After rolling for a while with my ginormous strip of fabric, i finished. Awesome flower.....but it was not until I turned it over did I have "the moment". The rough side, underneath...THAT was what I wanted...a little more rustic and worn. I actually hot glued the edges, because I was too excited to sew it on at the moment..and attached it to the sad linen pillow with no personality. You can either sew your flower on or pin it...or hot glue if you are in the hot gluing mood, but it may ruin your pillow. The pillow came to life, and I must add...much cuter.
I am definitely making more...cute ones for my couch are coming!! You can find cheap pillows anywhere, Walmart, Target, etc., buy some fun fabric and keep the pretty coming.! Brighten up a lonely chair or add whimsy to a old couch
You are soooo... crafty! Made the pillow...come alive.
